GoldenBird
Something is going on. This blog’s title isn’t “Fennoskandia” anymore. I couldn’t resist the siren song of my new project, the retro sci-fi (?) mystery comic GoldenBird, and decided to devote this whole blog to it.
Chapter 1 of GoldenBird can be read at my other blog YellowPeril or ordered from me as a slightly different printed issue (30 SEK/3,50EUR).
The previous posts about history, identity, religion et cetera suit the theme well. GoldenBird is about clashes of cultures and faiths, about the decline of the west, the revolt of the masses, the tumulte noir of the early 20th century. It’s a hommage to the pulp fiction of those days, as well as faithful to European, American and Japanese traditions of cartooning. It’s a musical daydream and a silent movie on paper. Above all, it is fun to draw and write, and I hope it’s fun to read, because that’s all it should be!
