Jiving Lovecraft - Nyarlathotep and Jazz in 1920

Inspired by Ishmael Reed’s brilliant novel Mumbo Jumbo, I rewrote H. P. Lovecraft’s prose poem Nyarlathotep. The name of the Messenger of Cosmic Chaos was simply replaced with “Jazz”, and the effect was striking.
