Fashionable
This image is based on a French illustration that was one of the first inspirations for the visual look of Goldenbird.
Lou’s skirt pattern is from a sample of art deco patterns found on the web but probably from this book, and Mayann’s skirt pattern comes from some old Tuscan tapestry.

Lovely art deco style! And evil dead fox … What would Mochi do with it?
But isn’t a patterned skirt a bit too feminine for Lou …? In men’s fashion, wasn’t it at the very most the vest that had some flamboyant pattern?

Oh, I really wanted to use some crazy deco pattern, and her tie was too small. (Besides, that striped suit in Goldenbird #2 was a bit wild and crazy, too…) Maybe her motto is, “if Nijinsky could get away with it”… it’s butch enough?

I can only agree with the other com-ments; those art deco-styles are the rage. By the way; would it be possible to see Miss Mayann in a Delphos gown
by Mariano Fortuny? That would be smashing, according to my humble opinion.

Funny you should say that, B.T., I was looking at a picture of a Delphos gown just a few days ago and wondered who would wear it and when. They look so modern, or at least 1930’s, compared to the still rather square fashions in 1920-1921.
It would be fun to draw a fashion show of all the different trends… The Grecian revival (like Fortuny), Paul Poiret’s Orientalism, and up-and-coming Coco Chanel minimalism…
