The second page is a little exercise in feminist theory, that is, exploring the term “male gaze”. Where are the men looking or where they are trying to look?

… in a different light! Personality-wise, Falco is as far away from the “mad monk” as humanly possible, or is he? Corto’s hat suits Mayann very well, though.
Few comic artists have meant so much to me as Hugo Pratt and his hero Corto Maltese.
